Hyundai launched the India-made i20 N-Sport in South Africa last year at 265,900 Rand (Rs 11.44 lakh). The car generated some interest in the international market as it came with a better performing engine and sported a new bodykit. A recent report from an automotive website has given out more details on the car’s technical aspect.
In terms of design, the Hyundai i20 N-Sport gets graphite finished 17-inch alloy wheels, stainless steel free-flow cat-back exhaust system and N-badges on the front fenders and rear hatchback door. As for the new bodykit, it includes new side skirts, front and rear bumper lip spoilers, and a rear spoiler. To complete the sporty look, the car features a rear boot spoiler and sporty side skirts.
To thrill car lovers, the Hyundai i20 N-Sport is powered by a 1.4-litre four-cylinder 16-valve petrol engine that puts out 112bhp of power and 160Nm of torque. The dual continuous variable valve timing technology and multi-point electronic fuel injected engine comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission. As claimed by the publication, the i20 N-Sport has recorded attaining a top speed of 190kmph and had clocked 0 to 100 kmph in just about 8.9 seconds. The average fuel consumption recorded during the test stood at 12.04kmpl. The car competes strongly against the Fiat Abarth Punto.
The i20 N-Sport comes comes with stiffer springs for better high speed runs. For superior control and safety, the car comes with a four-wheel electronic four-channel ABS system along with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD). The Hyundai i20 N-Sport is not likely to see the daylight in India anytime soon.
