It hasn’t even been a week since Lamborghini globally launched their all-new SUV replete with a four-wheel drive and the news of it coming to India is out. The Lamborghini Urus will set foot into the subcontinent on 11 January 2018 to explore one of the world’s fastest growing luxury car markets.
The Lamborghini Urus has been built on the same platform as the Bentley Bentayga or the Audi Q7. But unless you strip it to the bare bones, you can never find that out. That's because Lamborghini has tailored the platform in its own style to build one of the first production super-SUVs. Powered by a 4.0-litre twin turbocharged 641bhp and 850Nm V8 growler, the Lamborghini Urus scampers to 100kmph in just 3.6 seconds on the way to its top speed of over 300kmph.
And it isn’t a complete pavement prowler either. With the Anima Terra and Anima Sabbia modes, it gets off-road capabilities as well. On the inside, the cabin is a nice mix of Lamborghini’s extravagance and the practicality of an SUV with the busy dash, the leather upholstery and generous cabin space (another first for a Lambo). And with another row of seats that can seat real people, Lamborghini has seemingly nailed the SUV form.
No wonder the raging bull is eager to come to India. Because we love our SUVs and our Lamborghinis and if we get the chance to have both of them in one package there's nothing quite like it. In fact, our guess is that the first batch is likely to be sold out even before the launch announcement is made!
