Hindustan Motors plans to launch a new ‘niche’ model in its Mitsubishi line-up. This ‘niche’ car is believed to be a James-Bond like car and HM deem it could fire up the portfolio of the Mitsubishi in India.
Hindustan Motors had recently launched the Outlander and the Montero SUVs to the Mitsubishi range. The HM stated, “We are gearing up for the launch of a niche vehicle, hopefully, within this year, for which we are awaiting requisite homologation from ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India)â€.
The company is yet to disclose the pricing of this niche model. The company has reported a loss of Rs 21 crore in the first quarter of 2009-10. But this hasn’t stopped them from investing,the company has further invested Rs 75 crore in its Uttarpa factory for new press and castings for its upcoming mini-truck.
