The NX is the entry-level compact crossover in the Lexus’ line-up which sits below the RX. It was unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor show and after just three years down the line, Lexus is ready to give a mid-life update to the urban crossover. The new NX will make its global debut at next month’s Shanghai Motor Show.
According to Lexus, the new NX gets an updated exterior design along with added convenience and functionality on the inside. Apart from this, no details have been revealed by the carmaker about the added features to the new NX except that the Japanese manufacturer intends to make it suitable for ‘global luxury consumers’. Although, we must say, that the current NX doesn’t look all that old. It’s got the same imposing spindle grille and the aggressive X-motif which the other SUVs in the Lexus’ portfolio also have. So expect a few minor updates which would include a new LED headlight signature, as seen in the teaser, redesigned bumpers, alloy wheels and most probably a new body paint.
Along with the new NX, the fifth-generation LS flagship sedan will also make its Asia debut at the Shanghai stage. Globally unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year, the LS sedan is the Japanese Luxo-barge which plays rival to the likes of Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series. The LS flagship is all new and it follows the brand’s new design philosophy, incorporating all the lavish features, equipment and technologies the Japanese carmaker has to offer.
Both the new NX crossover and the LS sedan will make their way to Indian shores following Lexus’ Indian debut.
