We have given you our list of top budget SUVs that will come to India in 2018 and here is our list of luxury SUVs that will come to the country in 2018. The list mostly comprises models from the big players who will bring in an all-new generation for quite a few of their models. Expect the debut of their vehicles over the course of 2018.
Lamborghini Urus
It is the fastest and most powerful SUV in the world and who else except Lamborghini could come up with a concept like the Urus. Its look like a Hurarcan on stilts, but with an Audi sourced V8 pushing out a ‘modest’ 650bhp/850Nm. You get similar interiors but with seating for four and a softer tone for the overall design. The India debut will take place on January 11.
Next-generation Audi Q5
Coming in behind its much richer cousin (the Urus) is the Audi Q5 on January 18. It is the third generation for the German automaker’s mid-size premium SUV and just like most of the current crop of Four-Ringed cars, it sports an evolutionary design. At the time of the launch, Audi is expected to offer the car with a 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine option.
2018 BMW X3
Just as Audi will upgrade the Q5, BMW too is upgrading the X3 and this time around, it is a whole new generation for the Bavarian automaker’s mid-size SUV. The design is evolutionary but underneath is a new platform that sheds quite a bit of weight over the outgoing model. Also expect a new feature list and India-spec design elements.
Volvo XC40
This is a new segment that Volvo is entering and their competitor is the XC40. It looks like the XC60 and XC90, but with scaled down dimensions to suit its position in their hierarchy. It will come to India by mid-2018 and is expected to get the same engines from the V40 and V40 Cross Country. We can also expect local assembly a few months after the car has gone on sale in India.
2018 Porsche Cayenne
Last year Porsche showcased the next generation Cayenne at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and as expected, it is an evolution of the current model but with new high performance and lightweight underpinnings. It has been announced for India and dealers have started accepting bookings for the high performance SUV.
Mercedes-Benz G-Class
The oldest SUV in the Mercedes-Benz family will get a makeover to look exactly the same as before! Yes, the latest generation G-Class (in all its forms) will be unveiled at the 2018 Detroit Motor Show and go on sale in America and China where it is hugely popular. Closer to home, we will get the car in the G63 AMG guise in mid- 2018.
Jaguar E-Pace
Jaguar is looking to expand its SUV range and has introduced its second SUV, the E-Pace. It slots in below the F-Pace and will be a competitor for the Volvo XC40, Audi Q3, BMW X1 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC. It has the same design as the F-Pace but with smaller engines and a lesser feature list to suit the position of the car.
