Jaguar’s line-up of luxury sedans will significantly expand this year with the addition of the brand's all new, aluminium intensive XE, a car that will join the new XF and the flagship XJ. The XE will go on sale in Europe later this year and in 2016 in the United States and Canada.
In the United States, the XE will feature two different engines – a 2-litre Ingenium four cylinder diesel and a 340bhp supercharged 3-liter V6 engine. While the former in XE 20d version produces 180bhp of power, the XE 35t is supercharged and accelerates from zero to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds. Jaguar has confirmed that the XE will be offered with a lighter version of the ZF 8-speed automatic used in the rest of the Jaguar range.
The XE is Jagaur’s answer for the executive luxury segment which includes strong contenders like the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4. Jaguar India is expected to launch the XE in India at the 2016 Auto Expo. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 35 lakh to Rs 50 lakh and will be offered both with petrol and diesel engines.
