Launched seven years ago, the Ford Figo has received timely updates from its manufacturer. However, in 2015, the American manufacturer launched the second generation of the same hatch, and now recent spy shots from the internet have confirmed that an adventure variant of the second generation Ford Figo is, indeed, in the works. The upcoming crossover is expected to be dubbed as the Figo-Trail which was already showcased as the Ford Ka-Trail in the 2016 Sao Paulo International Auto Show.
Upfront, the spotted car boasts of an additional skid plate with a redesigned air dam. The side profile displays the body cladding, which runs from the front wheel arch to the rear and doubles up as the side skirt and a rocker panel. The rear bumper seems to have received minor tweaks and some meaty body cladding as well. The cabin is expected to receive a few tweaks and a few additional features as a part of its midlife update.

Rumour has it that the new crossover will be powered by a new 1.5-litre three cylinder petrol engine. However it is uncertain whether the manufacturer will offer a choice of either a six-speed DCT or a five-speed manual gearbox. The new crossover vehicle is also expected to be offered with a diesel motor. However, it is expected to be paired to a five-speed manual gearbox only.
The new crossover is expected to be showcased at the Delhi Auto expo held early next year and after its unveiling, the car will soon arrive at dealerships. In the Indian market, the Ford Figo Trail will compete against the crossovers currently on sale in the Indian market, such as the Hyundai i20 Active, Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and the Fiat Urban Cross.
