Hyundai is betting big on the ever growing crossover/mini SUV space. The brand has had plenty of success with its existing line-up of crossovers and is now working on yet another mini SUV to take on the likes of the Nissan Juke.
What you see here is one of the prototypes of Hyundai’s new mini SUV, caught testing under the sun in the Death Valley. This new model will be targeted at a younger set of buyers and will feature a new look that is different compared to the existing crossovers like the Tucson. The former will have an edgier, more aggressive design to attract younger audience.
The mini SUV is expected to be based on the European i20 and will get a host of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines ranging between 1-litre and 1.6-litre. Expect it to be unveiled in the US sometime late next year.
