Last month we reported about Hyundai Brazil’s intent to launch a redesigned variant of the existing Hyundai HB20 called the R-spec and we now know that the new HB20 R-spec goes on sale tomorrow.
Though the carmaker has retained the same engine of the regular version, the HB20 R-spec variant promises to infuse sporty looks into the otherwise ordinary-looking model. So powertrain duties will be accomplished by the 1.6-litre motor that has an output of 122bhp at 6,000rpm and a 160Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. This engine will come with the option of a manual box or a six-speed auto.
Unique bits on R-spec are the new 15-inch alloy wheels, disc calipers in red paint, a unique front grille in glossy black and the R-spec logo. Also, on offer is a chrome exhaust tip, aggressively designed rear bumper, shark fin antenna and an exclusive new shade of red called ‘red chilli’. On the inside, the R-spec brings in black leather with red accents, chrome, glossy black finishes and bright red accents on the music player. You also get aluminum pedals and a newly designed instrument console.
