Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) sold 35,511 cars in India in November 2014, registering a boost of six per cent in sales. The company had sold 33,501 units of cars in the same month last year.
Apart from the domestic sales, the manufacturer also exported 18,500 vehicles in November 2014 when they had sold 16,180 units in the corresponding month in 2013. In comparison, this shows an increase of 14.3 per cent in exports. In all, Hyundai's cumulative sales come up to 54,011 units in November 2014 as against the 49,681 units they sold in the same period last year showing a hike of 8.7 per cent.
Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, HMIL, said, "Hyundai with a volume of 35,511 units indicates a strong demand for Hyundai models, giving growth month after month bettering the industry slow growth. The strong investment of launching four new products in a year's time has resulted in this growth. Today, Hyundai has one of the youngest product portfolios lead by Elite i20 which has reached a landmark number of 10,500 units making it the top-seller amongst the strong Hyundai brands."
Hyundai launched the Elite i20 in August this year and ever since then it has created quite a sensation in the Indian market. This second generation model of the i20 has helped the car manufacturer to achieve these good sales figures which are expected to improve with the increasing demand for the car.
