Ahead of its official launch on 22nd August, leaked Hyundai Verna brochure reveals that the upcoming vehicle will be available in four variants – E, EX, SX and SX(O). The vehicle will be available in petrol as well as diesel engine options. In addition to the existing colours, the new Verna is available with four more colour options – fiery red, flame orange, polar white and siena brown.
Under the hood, the 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine generates 121bhp of power at 6,400rpm and 151Nm of torque at 4,840rpm. The diesel version gets a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine which generates 126bhp of power at 4,000rpm and 260Nm of torque at 1,500-3,000 rpm. Six-speed manual is standard across all variants. Six-speed automatic in petrol is available in EX and SX(O) variants, while in diesel it is limited to EX and SX variants. Safety equipments like Driver, passenger airbags and ABS is standard across all variants, while side and curtain airbags is offered in the top-spec version.
In terms of features, the base E variant gets halogen headlamps, chrome front grille, day and night rear view mirror, metal finish inside door handles and auto down (driver only). Moving one step ahead, the Verna EX gets parking assist, a five-inch touchscreen audio steering wheel with audio controls and a manual AC with cluster ionizer. The EX variant also gets a rear AC vent, leather wrapped gear knob and steering wheel, auto up-down (driver only), cruise control and a clutch footrest.
In addition to all the features in the EX variant, the SX trim additionally offers electro chrome rear view mirror, projector headlamps, cornering lights, LED DRLs and positioning lights. The variant also gets LED taillights, R16 diamond cut alloy wheels, electric folding mirrors and seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The top-spec SX(O) in addition to all the features from the lower variant offers smart key, rear defogger with timer, chrome outside door handles, leather door centre trim and auto link.
