Hyundai has added two new automatic variants to the Verna line up and they are the SX Plus AT petrol and SX (O) AT diesel that are priced at Rs 11.51 lakhs and Rs 13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
SX Plus AT petrol
The petrol powered SX Plus AT variant gets a place between the EX and SX (O) variant in the Verna hierarchy. The engine on offer is the 1.6-litre four cylinder unit producing 121bhp/151Nm of torque and is offered with a six-speed AT. It’s priced Rs 83,000 lakhs over the EX AT variant and for that addition you get features like a 7.0-inch touchscreen system, alloy wheels, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, sunroof, button start, hands free boot opening and keyless entry.
SX (O) diesel AT
This is a new top-of-the-line model for the diesel range of the Verna. There is a price difference of Rs 1.05 lakhs and Rs 97,000 between the SX (O) MT/AT and the SX+ variants respectively. The diesel engine is the 1.6-litre four-cylinder unit producing 126bhp/260Nm and this engine is offered with a six-speed AT. You get the same feature list and layout as the SX (O) petrol. This includes leather upholstery, ventilated front seats and side and curtain airbags just to name a few.
It is priced Rs 1.3 lakhs more than the SX (O) AT petrol and takes on the likes of the Volkswagen Vento diesel AT as well as the Skoda Rapid diesel AT. It is priced significantly lower than both the equivalent diesel versions of these cars.
