A test mule of the popular sedan, the Hyundai Verna has been spied testing undisguised in India. The car, spotted near Pune, had a 1.6 EX badge on its boot, claims the source.
As is evident from the spy images, the bonnet crease lines are different; the headlights have grown in size and now end at the axle while the slightly redesigned bumper completes the changes at the front. However, there aren’t as many changes at the rear except the slightly revised bumper that houses two big reflectors. The tail lights look similar to the outgoing model and there is a possibility that it might get LED strips for illumination.
The updated Verna might have an interior that looks similar to the outgoing model and the changes inside might be negligible.
Mechanically, the Verna might use the same powertrains, however, a new six-speed automatic gearbox could be added to the list.
As in October, the Verna has been trailing behind the Honda City which in turn lost its position to the recently launched Maruti Ciaz. Things are looking gloomy for the Verna and if Hyundai is ambitious to fetch the top position again they might need more than just a facelift to beat the competition.
