The 2017 Hyundai Verna has received over 15,000 bookings in just 40 days since its launch. Hyundai says it has also received over 1,24,000 enquiries for the car since then.
The carmaker had commenced the bookings of the new Verna in the first week of August, even though the car was launched only on 22 August. In fact, more than 4,000 bookings came in before the launch itself. These numbers eventually crossed 7,000 and have now, more than doubled, in just 40 days.
In recent years, the sales numbers of the Verna had not been on par with that of the Honda City in India. Hyundai might be able to change that with the new-gen Verna. The Verna brand has over 8.8 million customers in 66 countries and this number is only expected to increase exponentially. The carmaker wants to deliver 12,000 Vernas in the Indian market before Diwali and 20,000 cars by the end of this year. Good news for potential buyers is that the introductory pricing will continue for these initial batches of units.
