- Engine and gearbox options are unchanged
- Competition includes Virtus, Slavia and City
Hyundai India has updated the Verna with a couple of new features. The popular sedan now comes with a rear spoiler as part of the features. Additionally, a new grey monotone color option has been introduced for the Verna.
Hyundai launched the current generation of the Verna in March last year. The company offers the Verna with two petrol engine options – a 1.5-litre NA petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. The latter produces 158bhp/253Nm and comes mated to a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT unit, while the NA engine produces 113bhp and 144Nm of torque and comes paired with a six-speed manual or a CVT unit. There isn’t any diesel powertrain on offer with the current-gen Verna.
Currently, the Verna is available at an ex-showroom starting price of Rs. 11 lakh across four variants – EX, S, SX, and SX (O). As for the features, the major highlights include switchable-type HVAC and media controls, an all-digital instrument cluster, ventilated and heated front seats, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
The Verna competes against the likes of the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, Honda City, and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
