Think the new Hyundai i20 is too boring to look at? Have a load of this new, two-door i20 Coupe which will soon go on sale in the UK. Prices are set to start at £12,725 (Rs 12.22 lakh) for the entry-level SE trim, going all the way to £16,400 (Rs 15.75 lakh) for the top-spec Sport Nav trim.
While even the entry-level trim gets 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors and rear spoiler, the range-topping trim adds automatic lights, auto dimming review mirror, climate control, GPS navigation with 7-inch touch screen, rear-view camera and much more.
The Coupe will be available with a choice of two engines; a 1.2-litre petrol with 84bhp of power and a 1.4-litre diesel engine delivering up to 90bhp. The petrol is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the diesel comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
To set the Coupe apart from the rest of the i20 range, Hyundai has introduced a new exterior colour called Tangerine Orange. The new colour comes with a black interior with orange inserts.
Designed and built in Europe, production of the i20 Coupe will take place at Hyundai’s Turkish manufacturing plant in Izmit, alongside the standard i20 hatchback. Rather disappointingly, the i20 Coupe is not destined for the Indian market as Hyundai India plans to offer the i20 only in the standard 5-door guise.
