According to BNCAP, the Tucson SUV scored 30.84 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection and 41 out of 49 points in child occupant protection, thus resulting in a five-star rating each. Notably, the rating is applicable only to the petrol range, which includes the Platinum and Signature variants powered by a 2.0-litre AT powertrain.
Safety features of the Hyundai Tucson include six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, ESP, VSM, DBC, TPMS, reverse parking sensors, speed alert system, seatbelt reminder system, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters, and a reverse parking camera with guidelines. The aforementioned features are offered across the variant line-up.
Apart from the 2.0-litre petrol AT variant mentioned earlier, the Tucson also gets a 2.0-litre diesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Also up for offer is a 4x4 system.
