Hyundai will launch three more models for the Indian market in 2017. The South Korean automaker began 2017 with the launch of the facelifted Grand i10 hatchback. This is a mid-life update for their B-segment hatchback and includes mechanical as well as cosmetic changes.
The Grand i10 will be followed by a 4X4 version of the Tucson crossover which is expected to be launched next month. This AWD option will be offered with the 2.0-litre diesel engine/six-speed AT combination and is expected to cost at least Rs one lakh more than the equivalent 2WD option.
Next in the pipeline will be a facelift for the Xcent compact sedan. It will get the same updates as the Grand i10 but with sufficient cosmetic differences, including a new rear-end, to separate it from the hatchback. We believe that Hyundai will launch this car in June following a similar pattern of how it launched both the vehicles back in 2013 and 2014.
Finally, one of the bigger launches for 2017 will be the all-new Verna C-segment sedan. This will be the fourth generation of the Verna launched for the Indian market and this time around the car sports a new design both on the inside and outside. However, mechanically it is expected to remain the same as the current model, which is powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines.
