Ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show, Hyundai has released teaser images of the Brazilian-spec Creta. As seen in the images the new model features fresh upgrades in comparison to the model which is sold in India. In response to growing competition, it is likely that Hyundai will introduce the new facelift model sometime in 2017.
The teaser images hint that the Brazilian-spec Creta will get a large grille in the front with horizontal fog lamps and projector headlamps. As for the rear, the SUV sports redesigned tail lamps. The vehicle is likely to get a chrome strip above the number plate which will extend right to the entire length of the rear boot lid. The sides have not been revealed for now, but we do not expect to see major upgrades except for new alloys.
The Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta is likely to be powered by a 1.6-litre CVVT engine which generates about 124bhp of power and 162Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The SUV will come mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. In India, the Creta has been a huge success in its segment and it is likely that the facelift model will not get mechanical upgrades and it will be limited to cosmetic upgrades. Anticipating the facelift model to be introduced in India, we can expect to see a further rise in demand for the vehicle.
