Hyundai has announced a new Celebration Edition for its Santro Xing hatchback. The limited edition celebrates the company’s 15 year presence in the Indian automotive market. The limited edition will be available on the GL Plus variant though the pricing for the edition has not been announced yet.
The Celebration edition features new body graphics and a dash of chrome or the rear. The highlighting feature of the limited edition is the addition of parking sensors, a feature not available on the current Santro Xing variants. The interiors get a rear sun blind, a set of new carpets and a Blaupunkt stereo system.
Santro sales still averages at around 4000 unitsmonth in month out, though Mumbai taxi sales account for a major chunk. The Xing is not Hyundai’s current best seller and the sales are expected to drop further after the launch of the Grand i10 and subsequent price correction of the i10. The decision is probably to clear stocks before the launch of the new diesel hatchback next month.
Edit: The Celebration Edition Santro Xing will be available in Petrol, LPG and CNG, and is offered in three colours white, silver and a light brown colour that Hyundai has coined as 'Mushroom'. The Ex-showroom price in New Delhi is Rs 3,81,268.
