Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has updated the variant line-up of its popular i20 hatchback for this year. The revised units of the Hyundai i20 will hit showrooms in the coming weeks.
Sources have revealed that Hyundai will now offer dual front airbags as standard on both the i20 and the i20 Active. This trend is a move in the right direction and is a development that’s catching up with a lot of car makers currently. While the Sportz (O) variant has been axed, the remaining five versions; Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta (O) continue to be offered. However, projector headlamps with cornering lights and LED daytime running lamps now find their way on to the top-spec Asta (O) variant. Hyundai has also equipped the Asta (O) with a seven-inch audio video navigation system and the 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Sources have maintained that there are no mechanical changes in the i20 and the i20 Active. They continue to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel motors that are mated to a five-speed and six-speed manual box respectively.
