Ahead of its official unveiling, Hyundai has released a new video showing design details of the upcoming Kona. The latter, as we know, is Hyundai’s latest compact SUV for emerging markets.
The Kona’s design highlight consists of sleek and sharp shapes. Its design in fact is characterised by its wide stance and the twin headlamp look. The Kona also features Hyundai’s cascading grille design element which is the company’s new family identity.
There are no shots of the interior yet although many bits and features are expected to be carried over from the i20 whereas the i30 will provide inspiration for the drive train. The 1-litre T-GDI three-cylinder and 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol engines are developed for the European market, as is the well-known 1.6 CRDi turbo diesel, which will also make its way under the hood of the Kona.
Further information about the new Kona will be released in the near future, with the official unveiling scheduled later in the year.
