Hyundai India has registered cumulative sales of 55,614 units in March 2017. The Korean manufacturer attained a cumulative growth of 8.1 per cent compared to the corresponding month in 2016 when it sold 51,452 units.
The cumulative figure includes 44,757 domestic sales and 10,857 units exported units. The domestic sales grew by a modest 8.6 percent as the manufacturer sold 41,201 units in the month of March last year. Exports in the same month, however, grew by a mere 5.9 per cent, selling just 606 units extra compared to same month in 2016.
Compared to the previous month, Hyundai achieved a growth of 5.4 percent over the 52,734 units sold in February 2017. The domestic sales are up by 5.7 per cent and export sales increased by a mere 4.3 per cent as compared to February 2017.
Hyundai continues to sustain their growth trajectory in sales owing to their strong product portfolio. There is a strong demand for the Elite i20, Creta and Grand i10 helping the carmaker achieve good volumes in the Indian market. The updated Grand i10 which was launched in February, and the Creta compact SUV along with the premium hatchback, the Elite i20 have been averaging more than 10,000 units asserts Hyundai.
Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- sales and marketing, HMIL, commenting on the March sales, said, “Hyundai's ICOTY hat-trick products Grand i10, Elite i20 and Creta achieved a record sales of over 10,000 units each in a single month, with all-model volume of 44,757 units registering a growth of 8.6% while closing the Financial Year with highest-ever sales of 5,09,707 units, creating a strong momentum for the next year."
