- Hyundai QXI compact SUV to launch in April 2019
- Likely to be powered by 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine options
Hyundai Motor India Ltd is set to mark its presence in the sub four-metre SUV space with the QXI compact SUV, which is due for launch in April 2019. Back in the 2016 Auto Expo, the vehicle was showcased as the Carlino concept. Recently, we had revealed the international test mule image for the upcoming model.
As seen in test mule images, the car gets a rectangular grille instead of the cascading grille design which can be seen in newer Hyundai modes. The new Hyundai upcoming QXI compact SUV is expected to be offered with a vertically stacked headlamp with LED DRL and turn indicators on the top. The production-ready model is expected to get a square fascia to appeal to the Indian buyers. Mechanical details are not known for now, however we believe it might borrow the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine options from the Elite i20.
Interior details for the compact SUV are not known for now, however, we expect to see a dual tone upholstery along with a few borrowed elements from the Grand i10 and the Creta. Additionally, the vehicle is also expected to be offered with a touchscreen infotainment system. Post launch, it is expected to compete against the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Maruti Brezza in India.
