-Compact SUV to take on the Maruti Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Honda WR-V and Mahindra XUV300
-Likely to be launched in May
The tail lamp pattern on the Hyundai QXi/Styx sub-4 metre SUV has been revealed in a new set of spy images. This is Hyundai’s new rival for the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Honda WR-V and the Ford EcoSport and is expected to be unveiled in May.
The tail lamp pattern has been revealed to be a rectangular lamp with a slash pattern descending from the top left in an expanding manner to the middle of the lamp. The bottom right corner has been reserved for the indicator. It appears to be a LED set up and you can the parking sensors on the bumper.
Now, in all seriousness, the tail lamp pattern might not be something major at this stage of the vehicle’s life, but it is one of the elements that defines the overall identity of the vehicle. After all, in heavy traffic that’s what you are going to be following when you are behind the car.
Given its positioning, we expect that this compact SUV will share its engine and underpinnings with the likes of the Hyundai Elite i20. This means a 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.4-litre diesel.
