The Hyundai QXi (codename) compact SUV will be officially unveiled in India on 17 April. The SUV will be simultaneously showcased at the New York Auto Show 2019 for the global markets. While the company is yet to decide the nomenclature for its first sub-4-meter SUV, various reports claim that the car will be christened as the Hyundai Styx. The QXi will rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, and the Ford EcoSport.
The company has already commenced its promotional campaigns for the Hyundai QXi, which is set to redefine the compact SUV segment in India. The SUV is likely to come with class-leading features like ventilated front seats and connected technologies. With the QXi, Hyundai is expected to set a new benchmark for design and safety in the segment.
The Hyundai QXi is expected to get a 1.0-litre GDI turbocharged petrol motor and a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel engine. The gasoline powertrain is likely to produce either 100 or 120 bhp power, while the oil burner churns out 89 bhp and 220 Nm. Transmission duties will be carried out by a six-speed manual transmission on both the engines. An automatic gearbox is also expected to be offered on the QXi.
