- Concept unveiling at LA Auto Show in November 2024
- Launch in the first half of 2025
Hyundai has unveiled its new hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) concept called the Initium. The concept previews a new production FCEV that Hyundai plans to unveil in the first half of next year. The hydrogen fuel cell-powered SUV concept also marks the debut of Hyundai’s latest design language.
The ‘+'-inspired graphic, part of Initium’s lighting signature, blends with the bumper for an FCEV-specific design cue marked by unique lighting. With the Initium, Hyundai has equipped the concept with large hydrogen fuel tanks to maximize the vehicle’s range. The concept also gets aerodynamic wheels to reduce drag wrapped in low-rolling-resistance tires for a targeted driving range of more than 650 km between refuelling.
Hyundai plans to showcase the Initium at the Los Angeles Auto Show and Auto Guangzhou in November, whereas the production version of the concept is set to launch in the first half of 2025.
