The stylish looking car from Korean manufacturer, the Hyundai Grandi10, within the first month of its launch, has secured a seat among the highest selling car models in India. Buoyed by its instant success in the hatchback market, Hyundai Motor India is planning to increase the production of the model to reduce the waiting period for customers.
In an interview to a national news agency, Senior Vice President and Division Head (Marketing & Sales), HMIL, said, "We are overwhelmed by the response that the Grand i10 has generated. We are recalibrating our production to serve our customers faster.”
The sales figures do all the talking. The company claims to have received 1.31 lakh enquiries regarding the car, since its entry into the market in the first week of September. Moreover, the firm has also registered around 13,000 bookings for the car till date. The company has delivered 8,411 units of the compact car in September and has around 4,500 pending booking orders. While the two top end variants - Hyundai Grand i10 Asta and Sportz have two months of waiting period, the base models Era and Magna have a waiting period of one month.
How they are going to increase the production or what strategy they will adopt is yet to be seen. Hyundai Motors India is keeping its cards close to its chest.
