Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has started accepting bookings for the new Grandi10 NIOS at Rs 11,000 today. Prospective buyers can book the new hatchback at authorised dealerships and even through HMIL's official website.
The Grandi10 NIOS is the third generation of the Grandi10 and the new name ‘NIOS’ means ‘More’. The carmaker says it depicts the persona of the Athletic Millennial and the car will offer more value, more features, more space and more excitement to live a Happy Millennial Life. Furthermore, its overall design theme is focussed to create an advanced hatchback with cues from the Indian architecture and inspiration from nature.
The Hyundai Grand i10 had first arrived in 2013 in India, and we got the larger model over the international-spec model. As the NIOS is bigger than the current Grandi10, we can be assured that the new car's bigger dimensions will translate into more space in the cabin as well. Apart from this roomier cabin, there will be new features to lend the cabin a more upmarket feel.
With respect to engine options, the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS should continue using the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel engine options. However, these units should come with extensive upgrades including BSVI compliance. Transmission options should include the five-speed manual, while the torque convertor automatic will be replaced by the newly developed AMT unit, which debuted on the Santro last year.
The Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS will co-exist with the current Grandi10. More information about the new car will be revealed in a few weeks. Also, detailed variant-wise information should be available at HMIL dealerships and on digital platforms soon.
