Hyundai Motor India exported 24, 551 units in April as compared to 19, 536 units in the corresponding period last year, resulting in a 25.7 per cent increase. However, the domestic sales was 32, 403 units in April as compared to 35, 070 units resulting in a decline of 7.6 per cent. The Korean automaker experienced a cumulative growth of 4.3 per cent.
Commenting on the numbers, Rakesh Srivastava, Senior vice president, sales and marketing, said, “The exports have shown good growth on account of strong demand from non-European markets while the domestic market continues to witness pressure.”
He added “though there are signs of recovery with the increase in demand for petrol cars. In current difficult times, HMIL is continuously gaining market share with a strong product portfolio of tried and tested brands high on quality and aspirational value.”
