Hyundai may launch a top-spec version of the Elite i20 which will feature a touchscreen infotainment system. The screen is expected to be factory fitted and will include features like satellite navigation and phone interface.
This version of the Elite i20 is expected to be launched in July and by the look of things is Hyundai’s answer to the new Honda Jazz whose top-spec variants will also feature a touchscreen system when it is launched next month. It is expected to be priced Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 over the cost of the current Asta petrol and diesel variants of the hatchback.
We believe that once this version of the Elite i20 is launched and depending on its success, Hyundai may offer this system with the Xcent and the Grandi10. This move will be to bring the fight to the Zest and the Bolt which are currently the only cars in their respective segments to be offered with a touchscreen system.
