- Introduced with a price premium
- Available with both MT and AT options
Hyundai has launched the S+ AMT and S (O )+ MT and they have been priced at Rs. 7.86 lakh and Rs. 8.43 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. The + in both these cases is the addition of a sunroof as a feature for the micro-SUV and they are priced at Rs 28000 (MT) and Rs 31000 (AMT) over the non-sunroof counterparts.
Some of the major highlights apart from the sunroof include a digital cluster, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear AC vents, all power windows, LED DRLs, front and rear skid plates and headlamps with escort function.
The Exter is offered with Hyundai’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder MPi petrol engine that produces 82bhp/113.8Nm and can be had with either a five-speed MT or a five-speed AMT. This engine can also be had with CNG power where the output is 68bhp/95Nm and only a five-speed MT is on offer. The Exter was the first Hyundai car to switch to its HY-duo CNG setup similar to what Tata has with its twin-cylinder technology. Hyundai has been one of the first to significantly localise its sunroof operations and has been reaping the benefit by offering it across its entire range.
