Hyundai has launched its most affordable car yet, the Eon, for Rs 2.69 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi for the base, D-Lite version. What you get for this money besides a car that features an all new and very modern design both inside and out is good fit and finish for its segment and a decently spacious cabin, not to mention a large boot for its class. Moreover, the base D-Lite version also comes standard with an aircon, 12in wheels, a bit of stowage at the front and driver side only ORVM.
The most expensive version of the Eon meanwhile is the Sportz priced at Rs 3.71 lakh and it is handsomely loaded. It features driver's side airbag, a 2-Din stereo, keyless entry, front power windows, a rear parcel tray, fog lamps and body coloured ORVMs.
Between the D-Lite and the Sportz there are three more trims to choose from - the Era, the Magna and the Magna (O) - which are priced Rs 20,000 apart from each other.
What's standard across the range is a 814cc, three cylinder petrol engine that develops 56bhp of max power. It is essentially the Santro's engine minus one cylinder. As a result it's more fuel efficient; it's ARAI claimed figure stands at 21.1kmpl.
