Hyundai Motor India announced a price reduction for the Kona Electric. The price cut is attributed to the Government of India’s announcement of a reduction in GST on electric vehicles. The revised prices for the Kona Electric will be applicable from August 1, 2019.
The GST rate on electric vehicles has been brought down from 12 per-cent to 5 per-cent. This resulted in the prices of the Kona Electric reducing from Rs 25.30 lakhs to Rs 23.71 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, India). The company has also announced that 152 units of the Kona were booked within 20 days of its launch in India.
The Hyundai Kona Electric is available at 15 dealerships in 11 cities. Following is a list of the state-wise dealerships:
