Hyundai is all set to launch the Kona all electric crossover in India tomorrow. The Kona EV is expected to make a debut in the country with a price tag of approximately Rs 25-30 lakh (ex-showroom). The model will be brought to India via the CKD route.
The Korean automobile manufacturer is expected to sell the Kona EV through select dealerships, details of which will be revealed during the launch tomorrow. These select dealerships are likely to be in metro cities due to limited charging infrastructure.
According to Hyundai, the Kona can be charged up to 80 per-cent in 52 minutes with the help of the fast charging facility. The standard charger will take nine hours for a full charge. Hyundai India has also revealed that the Kona electric vehicle will have an ARAI certified range of 452 kms in a single charge. The EV will source power from a 39.2 Kw battery. Also on offer will be regenerative braking technology. Once launched, the Hyundai Kona EV will rival the Toyota Prius.
