The Hyundai ix25 premium compact SUV has been launched in the Chinese market for 119, 800 Yuan (Rs 11.96 lakh). It was previewed at the 2014 Chengdu Auto Show in concept form and is being offered in the Chinese market with engine and gearbox options.
The ix25 is carries a similar design to that of the Santa Fe and is an evolution of the Hyundai’s fluidic design philosophy. The equipment list on the top-spec variants includes LED DRLs, panoramic sunroof, leather seats, cruise control, touch-screen infotainment system, climate control, button start, parking camera and ESP.
The engine options include a 1.6-litre petrol and 2.0-litre petrol with the former producing 123bhp/151Nm while the latter produces 158bhp/192Nm. The gearbox options include a six-speed MT/AT while only the 2.0-litre engine also gets the option of an AWD system. It is 4.2-meters long with a wheelbase of 2.5-meters.The car will be manufactured at the South Korean automaker’s plant under the Beijing-Hyundai JV.
We in India are likely to get the ix25 in late 2015 but with both petrol and diesel engines options. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 11 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.
