- Could come to India in 2026
- Sister car to the Kia EV9
Hyundai’s take on the three-row electric vehicle will debut this month as the Ioniq 9. It’s the production-ready version of the Ioniq Concept 7 that was showcased in 2021. The latest teaser images showcase the car's interiors revealing quite a few details. We can see the three rows of seating and the seat controls for the front-row passenger seat. Also visible are Bose speakers, the door pocket design and the slant of the rear roofline indicating the overall design.
The Ioniq 9 is Hyundai’s version of the EV9, and given the SUV's relative success, it is expected to offer the same package as its Kia sibling. That means things like multi-zone climate control, level-2 ADAS, dual digital screens, and an interior package made from recycled materials.
The automaker has already said that it will be underpinned by their e-GMP platform which it will share with EV9. The automaker has alluded to a seven-seat version but we also expect six-seat models depending on the market.
We expect the car to come India in 2026 and will be brought in a CBU. Like Kia, we expect Hyundai to keep this more as a showcase of technological prowess rather than a volumes model.
