Hyundai has officially announced the specifications of the all-new Santa Fe which goes on sale in the UK on September 1. The new model has more equipment, safety features and better engine options over the previous generation.
The new exterior design that showcases Hyundai’s latest design language initiated by the Kona, includes the cascading grille and the composite headlamp design. The interior has also been completely redesigned for more space with a premium feel with the help of soft touch materials throughout.
The new Santa Fe features the 2.2-litre CRDi “R” engine, upgraded to reduce emissions in conjunction with the diesel particulate filter system, whilst maintaining the 200bhp/440Nm output. It will be available with front wheel drive or 4WD drivetrains, with 6-speed manual transmission or an all-new 8-speed automatic.
Hyundai says that their new 8-speed automatic transmission improves engine response and control when cornering - by suppressing upshifts over a set lateral G level - and engine braking by raising the gearbox downshift RPM level when braking hard.
In terms of equipment, the Santa Fe comes with 7 seats, roof rails, front and rear parking sensors with rear view camera, dual zone climate control, heated front seats, drivers’ seat height adjustment, leather steering wheel, automatic windscreen wipers, music system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Smart High Beam Assist.
