Hyundai Motors will soon achieve a new milestone, with 20 years of successful presence in India. To mark this special occasion, the company will launch the special edition Xcent in April and the Grand i10 in May this year.
Mechanically, these models will remain the same, whereas, on the design aspect, it will sport fresh cosmetic upgrades and features. The vehicle will continue to be offered with the 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates 79bhp of power and 112Nm of torque and the diesel will continue to be powered by a 1.1-litre engine that generates 70bhp of power and 160Nm of torque. Apart from the five-speed manual transmission option, the vehicle will also continue to be offered with the four-speed automatic gearbox.
In depth report on the feature upgrades is not known for now. However, we expect that the new variants will feature new body graphics, special badging at the rear and rich upholstery. Features like steering will get easy control buttons, rear sensors and music system with Bluetooth connectivity, which is generally offered in top-end version will also be offered. We expect that the special edition models will be priced around the top-end variant.
Speaking on the occasion, Young Kee Koo, Managing Director of HMIL said, “2016 is important for us. To celebrate 20 years of our success, we will introduce a special edition of the Xcent this April at a competitive price for Indian customers. In May, we will roll out a special edition of i10, with new features and styling.”
