Hyundai Motor India has voluntarily recalled the Santa Fe to replace the stop lamp switch. The affected switch could malfunction during use, which could inconvenience the motorist.
The company has recalled over 2437 units of the Santa Fe manufactured between 26 June 2011 and 26 September 2013. Hyundai India will be notifying the affected owners in a phased manner to bring in their vehicles for replacing the part which will be done free of cost.
Hyundai is one of the few Indian manufacturers who officially send out recall notices and we appreciate their effort. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is an another one who had recalled 44,989 units of the Innova few weeks ago to rectify a fault in the cable of the steering wheel.
