Hyundai sold 38,016 cars in India last month, which is 9.3 per cent more than the cars sold in the same month last year. However, the overall sales for the company including exports dipped marginally by 1.2 per cent.
The exports for the Korean carmaker, however, dropped by 37.9 per cent from 10,003 units to 6,214 units. The total sales last month were 44,230 units against 44,783 units in January 2015. It seems that with the launch of the Creta and Active i20 last year, the company has cut down on exports to cater to the domestic demand. This is second month in a row that Hyundai exports have seen a big drop. However, there is still a decent waiting period for both the Creta and the i20.
