The new Hyundai i40 has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by independent vehicle assessment organisation, Euro NCAP. The results of the rigorous test process mark out the i40 as one of the safest vehicles in the D-segment.
The i40 is the fifth consecutive Hyundai model to achieve the maximum five-star score in Euro NCAP’s rigorous assessment program, following on from the top ratings achieved by the i20 supermini, ix20 compact MPV, i30 hatchback and ix35 compact SUV.
Electronic stability program, speed limitation assistance and a seatbelt reminder system contributed to the car’s score of 86% in the ‘safety assist’ category. The passive and active safety systems offered with i40 exceed Euro NCAP’s 2011 requirements.
