- The new and updated i30 will get Hyundai’s new family face.
- Expected to debut either late this year or sometime in 2020.
Hyundai i30 hatchback has been spotted testing for the first time in Germany with a heavy disguise. Under the black cladding, the prototype of the European supermini is sporting the new design language as a part of its mid-life update.
The Hyundai’s new cascading grille is hard to hide, however, the swept-back headlamp appears to have a sharper design compared to the current model. New day-time-running lights are part of the update along with redesigned bumpers. The overall appearance will take inspiration from the new Nexo and upcoming Tucson facelift. This new design language will also be seen on the updated i20, which will come to India as the new Elite i20.
In profile, things will remain more or less unchanged. While at the back, there might be a newly designed bumper, with sporty diffusers. The LED taillights might be tweaked as well along with the option of newly designed alloy wheels. On the inside, the updated i30 will get even more features along with added safety equipment to keep up with the growing competition.
Under the hood, there are rumours of a new GT trim which will push out around 200 horsepower. A hybrid powertrain isn’t ruled out either. Meanwhile, all the current powertrain options will be carried forward without any changes. The new Hyundai i30 is expected to break cover either in late-2019 or early next year, perhaps at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
