Hyundai has on display its sporty looking i20 in a 3-door avatar at the Geneva Motor Show. The 3-door model is on display alongside the updated i30 at the company’s stall in the show.
Pictures of the car were vealed last year and apart from the similar looks to its five-door sibling, its roofline has been shortened by 25mm. While the lower roof in the car won’t affect the performance in a big way, it does lend it a nice look. The boot space of the coupe is larger than the hatchback by 10 litre.
The car was presented in a tangerine orange shade and new 17-inch alloy wheels.
It will be powered by the same range of engines as found on the i20 hatchback, two petrol and two diesel. The petrol engines are – a 1.2-litre and a 1.4-litre, and two diesels – 1.1-litre and 1.4-litre.
The Elite i20 (5-door i20), as Hyundai calls it in India is successful in its segment, however that won’t be a reason enough for the Korean carmaker to launch it here.
