Hyundai has introduced the option of six airbags for the i20 Active and has priced it at Rs 8.33 lakh for the petrol model and Rs 9.71 lakh for the diesel (ex-showroom Delhi). This option is only available on the top-of-the-line SX variant across both petrol and diesel engined models. The addition of the extra airbags has raised the price of the car by Rs 14,000.
The i20 Active was already being offered with dual front airbags on this variant and now Hyundai has also included side and curtain airbags as a part of the package. In addition to the six airbags, the i20 Active already gets ABS and impact sensing auto door unlock function. The introduction of this option is no doubt in view of the increasing safety regulations that will come into effect from 2017.
The i20 Active is a beefed up version of the premium hatchback. It gets taller wheels, body kit and some additional bits within the cabin. It is offered with the same range of petrol and diesel engines as well as the underpinnings from the Elite i20.
