Hyundai discreetly launched the facelifted i20 Active in India recently. It was revealed at the Auto Expo this year and is now being offered in the price range of Rs 6.99-10.01 lakhs in both petrol and diesel variants. It is different from the Euro-spec i20 Active facelift. The India-spec model gets subtle changes but remains more or less the same as the current-gen model. Let’s take a look through this picture gallery.
A new dual-tone marina blue and polar white paint scheme has been introduced in the top-spec SX trim. This is in addition to the brown/black and white/black dual-tone colour options.
Apart from this new paint scheme, there are no changes to the exterior appearance of the car. It continues to get a muscular body cladding and roof rails, lending it a sporty avatar.
Overall design of the car remains the same sporting a rugged look. A new boot-lid applique and an 'Active' label are the only additions at the rear.
Step into the cabin of the refreshed Hyundai i20 Active to notice a bigger seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system similar to the one in the facelifted Elite i20.
The updated interior also sports body-coloured accents on the dashboard and seats. Furthermore there is a new pattern for the seat upholstery.Â
Safety has always been the priority on Hyundai cars and now the South Korean manufacturer has also equipped the top-spec SX variant with ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The i20 Active is also equipped with a unique USB fast charger, which ensures one doesn't run out of phone battery when on the move.
Mechanically, there are no changes to the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engine options on offer. The petrol comes mated to a five-speed gearbox and the diesel with a six-speed one.
The refreshed Hyundai i20 Active gets a mid-life update like the i20 hatchback. It will help the car remain afresh with new competition from the Ford Freestyle.
