The ‘Made in India’ Hyundai i10 received orders for 106,749 units from 98 countries in a span of just 7 months. Domestic sales have touched 65,000 units in this same period. The milestone figure of 1 lakh exports in so short a span of time is a record.
The i10 made its global debut in Bologna, Italy last December and from that time on orders have been received from diverse countries, apart from Europe. Hyundai Motor India is the second-largest passenger car manufacturer and the largest exporter of cars in India. Apart from winning the ‘Indian Car of the Year’ (ICOTY) award, the i10 was also voted best-in-segment by Autocar UK in a group test.
