Two days ago, we told you that Hyundai dealers have unofficially begun taking bookings for the all-new Grand i10 and are charging Rs 5, 000 as the bookings amount. The bookings are being made under the guise of the i10, due to lack of clarity on variants but will be transferred to the Grand i10 once the car is launched. Now the car (in the much awaited diesel avatar) has been spotted at a dealer stock yard just ahead of the launch. The pictures also reveal the interiors of the new car and provide us with a glimpse of a refreshed but very familiar design.
A report from Autocar India suggests that the Grand i10 will be available in four variants Magna, Sportz, Asta and Asta optional while the Era variant is expected to continue with only the current i10. The engines options are expected to be the 1.2-litre Kappa mill that produces 80PS and 112Nm of torque while the all new diesel mill is a 1.1-litre CRDI unit that is expected to produce 80PS but with over 150Nm of torque. Transmission options are expected to include five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic (petrol only).
The interiors too have been revealed in the new Grand i10. It gets beige and black combination with circular air vents, dash mounted gearbox, electric mirros climate control, elect and music system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX input. Other features are expected to include chrome door handles, alloy wheels (on the higher spec variants), keyless entry and button start.
The Grand i10 is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 4.70 lakh to Rs seven lakh for the top-end Asta sunroof diesel variant. It will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and the Volkswagen Polo.
