With the launch of the new Grand i10 Nios in India, our country has become the first market to get this new-gen Grand i10 (globally called the i10). Its European-spec model is expected to be unveiled in the coming month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Now that the carmaker has taken the cover off the Nios and officially revealed it, let's take a look at its new-gen avatar through this picture gallery.
As announced earlier, the Grand i10 Nios will be sold alongside the Grand i10 in India. It currently is slotted between the Santro and the Grand i10 in Hyundai's line-up.
Visually, the Nios gets a tall boy stance like the Santro, but sports a new sleeker design with sharper projector headlamps, LED DRLs and sculpted bumpers.
The cascading grille up front is a signature of Hyundai. It reminds one of the grille on the Verna sedan.
Also, the car gets sharper character lines, a new floating style roof design, two-tone diamond cut alloy wheels and wraparound tail lamps amongst other exterior highlights.
Inside too, the Grand i10 Nios gets many changes to differentiate it from the standard Grand i10. White-black dual tone treatment is standard, apart from an all-black interior in some trims.
The cabin boasts of a new eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It comes paired with Apple Carplay and Android Auto as is the case with all modern infotainment systems.
Other features include twin pod instrument console with MID, a multi-function steering wheel, auto climate control with rear AC vents and a segment-first wireless charging feature.
This Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be offered in both petrol and diesel 1.2-litre engines, available across nine variants. Apart from the standard manual gearbox, AMT option is also available.
Production of this hatchback began earlier this month from Hyundai's Chennai-based facility and bookings also started then. Dealers are readying cars for dispatch and deliveries will also begin soon.
