Hyundai's answer for the growing competition in the B-segment is here, as the all-new Grand i10 Nios has been launched in India. It is priced between Rs 5-7.99 lakhs (ex-showroom India) and is available in four trims - Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta. Here's a quick low-down on why you should consider buying the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
What's good about it?
The Grand i10 Nios is offered in 10 variants across petrol and diesel engines as well as manual and automatic transmissions. So, there's a variant to choose from for all types of buyers. Further, Hyundai has confirmed that the diesel engine will continue post the BS-VI transition. The new design is sharp and will appeal to millennials, while the interiors are funky and upmarket. Add to it, the Grand i10 Nios comes loaded with features like automatic climate control, an eight-inch infotainment system, SmartKey keyless entry with engine start/stop, 5.3-inch MID, ARKAMYS sound system and much more.
What's not so good?
The AMT option is not available in neither the top-spec Asta petrol nor the diesel variants, whereas the Maruti Suzuki Swift does offer it. Additionally, it lacks a comprehensive safety kit like six airbags, which are available on the Ford Figo. It misses out on some convenience features like automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.
Best variant to buy?
We would recommend buyers to opt for the Sportz variant. Not only does it offer good value, but it is also decently specced. The Sportz trim comes with the Smart Auto AMT, which is available across both the engine options. It is also the only variant, which gets the dual-tone paint schemes. Notable features include reverse parking camera, touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, climate control system, height-adjustable driver seat, electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs and much more.
